We encourage community members to comment online at www.surveymonkey.com/r/BelAireBikePed. The opinion survey is available through December 2. We are also holding a series of “pop-up” meetings to gather feedback. See the public input opportunities in the table below. We may also schedule other “pop-ups” to gather community input.
During the “pop-up” meetings, the public will be able to review detailed maps of Bel Aire and provide feedback. Staff from the City and consultant team will be located at information tables to listen to comments and answer questions. Discussion topics will include the best and worst places to walk or bike in town, on- and off-street bicycle paths, sidewalks, places to cross the street, important destinations for walkers and bicyclists, methods to funding projects, and more. No formal presentations will be given.
The planning process for the Bel Aire Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan Update began this fall and will continue through summer 2019. The effort will build on the City’s 2017 preliminary plan for bicycle and pedestrian pathways. The 2017 plan indicates where pathways currently exist and shows locations where future pathways are desired. The update will provide a long-term plan to connect the entire city with a seamless network that draws investment to the area, provides for safe and convenient transportation, and improves the quality of life for Bel Aire residents.
