Youth Activities

HORSEBACK RIDING - Singletree Stables (2100 E. 45th St. N.)

Participants will experience the basics of horsemanship including horse care, grooming, tacking up, and riding. Sessions are conducted by qualified instructors using safe lesson horses. BATON TWIRLING

Andover Dance Magic is coming to Bel Aire recreation center!  We are offering two baton twirling classes in June.  One for students ages 5-7, and one for students ages 8-12.  Grab a friend and come join the fun!  Classes begin Wed., June 2^nd and continue through Wed., June 23^rd.  The fee for the summer session is $45 and includes a baton.  Please call Miss Tammy at (316) 617-2445 for more information and to register.

FISHING CLINIC

The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks will conduct a free Fishing Clinic at Bel Aire's Alley Park. Topics introduced include: safety, fish identification, baiting a hook, hooking a fish, reeling and handling a fish. Fishing equipment will be provided. Parents are encouraged to assist their children. Space is limited, pre-registration is required.

HOLIDAY CRAFTS

Spice up your holidays with some homemade holiday crafts and decorations. Kids will be given the opportunity to get their creative juices flowing and put their own special twist on some holiday craft projects. Space is limited, therefore pre-registration is required.

The "tried and true" Folger's Gymnastics Curriculum will be used for all gymnastics classes. There are six skill levels, beginning with the most basic of the basic skills and progressing to skills that are used at the beginning level of competitive gymnastics. Each level has incentives and rewards, but since our number one goal is to develop a love for activity, we work hard to make that the reason our kids return for class week after week. TAEKWONDO - Kim's Academy

These classes emphasize fundamental techniques in self-defense, proper attitudes, discipline, respect, and cooperation while providing a great workout. This program is offered all year. New students may join at any time.

SUMMER DAY CAMP

The Wichita YMCA will again offer a state-licensed day camp this summer at the Bel Aire Recreation Center. Activities include arts & crafts, games, sports, swimming, field trips and much more. For more information or to register, call the YMCA at 264-1610.
