The Bel Aire Area Planning Commission consists of five seats occupied by Bel Aire residents, and two seats reserved for individuals residing in the unincorporated area outside of the City (within three miles of city limits). All members must be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by vote of the City Council. If you are interested in serving, please complete the volunteer application.
Overview
The primary role of the Planning Commission is to hear applications and petitions related to City planning and zoning. Working closely with the Planning and Community Development Department, the Planning Commission reviews building permits, zoning variances, and other related land use or building issues.
Requests & Agenda Items
All requests to be heard by the Planning Commission must be placed on the agenda. New agenda items must go through a pre-application process before the application can be processed.

Site Plan Review
All site plans must be reviewed by the City Engineer. A copy of the required plans must be delivered directly to:
