Lane closures on I-135 for pavement repairs to begin Nov. 1
Starting on Friday, Nov. 1, the Kansas Department of Transportation will close both the northbound and southbound I-135 lanes for pavement patching repairs at the westbound K-254 crossing over I-135.
These lane closures are necessary for concrete patching and are expected to last two weeks per lane. Work is scheduled during daytime hours, and drivers are encouraged to plan accordingly. Estimated completion is set for December, weather permitting.
During construction, the speed limit will be reduced to 50 mph in the work zone.
The map below outlines the project area.
KDOT urges motorists to stay alert and follow posted signs in all work zones. For current road conditions, visit www.kandrive.gov or call 5-1-1. For updates on construction projects in the Wichita area, visit https://www.ksdot.gov/bureaus/wichitaMetro/press.asp.
